Lorie Shipp is a professional hairstylist who has worked at Josephine’s Day Spa and Salon since 2009.

Lorie’s favorite part of her work is the creativity involved, satisfaction of helping a client look and feel their best, and interacting with a wide range of interesting people. She also finds sharing the excitement of special occasions to be very satisfying.

Lorie studied Cosmetology in Houston at The Academy of Hair Design and received her certification in 1984. She has also studied under the tutelage of Vidal Sassoon, Paul Mitchell, Toni & Guy and Aveda in shear, razor cutting and technical hair coloring. She also studied business and marketing within the beauty industry through Neill Corporation’s NQC courses.

Despite her active career, Lorie makes time to be involved with community organizations. She volunteers her time helping women and children at the local women’s shelter by aiding with their grooming needs.

Lorie lives in Houston, Texas; she has two grown daughters who are married as well as four grandchildren. Her favorite hobbies when not working include the cultural arts, metal-smithing, gardening and reading.
